The University of Stirling Clansmen are a British Unversitiy American Football League (BUAFL) team and our season runs from mid-October in the Autumn Semester through to March.
The Clansmen have won the (BCAFL) Northern Conference Scottish Division five times - 1988, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007 - and have been a consistent factor in the British playoffs. In 2003, the team won the British National Championship - the BCAFL College Bowl - for the first time in it's history. After an undefeated, championship winning season, the Clansmen are looking to build on their success and progress even further next season.
Being a University club we are very socially active with numerous club events such as nights out at our sponsoring club - Dusk - and watching live NFL coverage in the Long Bar, as well as other team nights that include bowling and Pub Golf.
We're always on the lookout for new players, whether a total beginner or an experienced veteran. If you think that this sounds like you, then why not pop down to the Fresher's Fayre at the Gannochy Sports Centre during Fresher's Week and sign up at our stall. We'll be having a throwabout on the astroturf pitches on Wednesday afternoon so come along and have a go! Alternatively you can send us an email.
Even if you're not a student at Stirling you may still be eligible to play for us. In the past we have had players who have been studying at Falkirk College and other colleges and universities in the surrounding areas. So if you're a full-time HE student in Central Scotland, then you're more than welcome too.
Training times: Wednesdays and Saturdays (times and location may vary from week to week)
